Plyometrics for Cardio

Ever jog on a treadmill for an hour? I haven't, and if you actually have time for that then find yourself a hobby. Plyometric HIIT workouts, burn twice as many calories in 1/3rd of the time while also building muscle, whereas steady-state cardio has been said to cause muscle loss. Im not a scientist, so don't ask me how, go google it you degenerate. Here's the real reason why I enjoy plyometrics for cardio, with no bullshit included: because it works for me. Will it work for you? Probably, but don't expect it to be easy like that sissy-state treadmill 30 minute jog is. No, these workouts will kick your ass and also help in developing your core and leg muscles.

"So what are plyos?" Simple: any exercise with a jump-like movement in it. For example: cleans, box jumps, kettlebell swings, jumping lunges, etc. Think of plyos as athletic training. You will become much more explosive and athletic doing these workouts, but you'll also burn a shit ton of fat.

"So whats an example workout you pretentious asshole?"

For beginners I recommend something like this:
Box jumps - 10 reps
kettle bell swings - 20 reps
jumping lunges - 8 reps each side
Do 3 rounds of this with no longer than 1 minute break in between rounds, no break in between exercises.

Once that becomes easy, get rid of the reps and go for time:
box jumps - 45 seconds worth
kb swings - 45 seconds worth
jumping lunges - 45 seconds worth

I tend to always do box jumps and kb swings, sometimes I switch out the jumping lunges for lightweight cleans, and other complicated shit that doesn't even really have a name and you wont be able to find on google. You will be able to find them here though scfit.com and on instagram @scfitonline

"WAIT MISTER, how often should I do these workouts?"
Every day if you're not a pussy. Seriously.
But I've been a pussy recently and have been doing them every other day, doing intense ab workouts on the days in between. Haven't noticed much of a difference, as long as youre getting 3-4 of these in a week you should be good.

oh and heres a good article about different types of cardio and their respective muscle burning/building effects
